Dr. David Swearingen received his optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry in 2000. The National Board of Optometry certified him in Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease in 2000. His undergraduate degree, Physical Education/Pre-Physical Therapy, was received from Point Loma Nazarene University in 1993.
Dr. Swearingen established Spectrum Eyecare Optometry, Inc. in 2006. His professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists, the National Glaucoma Society and the San Gabriel Optometric Society. He is currently board eligible as a Diplomat of the American Board of Optometry.
Three children have blessed his life: Ashley, Cade and Dawson. He has been married to their mother Amy for 20 years. He enjoys baseball, wakeboarding, jet skiing and golf.

Dr. Melissa Zhao was born and raised in the US territory of Guam. She attended Santa Clara University where she graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry and received her doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry with honors. Dr. Zhao is a member of the California Optometric Association, American Optometric Association, and the Orange County Optometric Association. In addition to being a licensed optometrist, she is licensed to treat/manage glaucoma, as well as in the use of therapeutic and diagnostic pharmaceutical agents.
Dr. Zhao did her internships at the US Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan, VA Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, and in the Indian Health Reservation in Bloomfield, New Mexico. In addition to working in private practice, she also performs eye examinations in skilled nursing facilities in and around Orange County.
In her spare time, she likes to play the cook, play board games, and discover new restaurants.
Dr. Lorna Reyes is a California native, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Reyes completed a B.S. in Biology from Loyola Marymount University, and a B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University. She earned her doctorate from Southern California College of Optometry in 2004.
Dr. Reyes has over 10 years of working experience including ophthalmology, corporate and private practice. She believes in listening to her patients in order to customize a solution to the individual’s lifestyle. Dr. Reyes also takes the time to explain and educate her patients so that they understand the results of their exam and the treatment plan she prescribes.
When she is not helping her patients to see better, Dr. Reyes enjoys spending time with her husband Ramil and 2 young sons Enzo and Jasper. She enjoys trying different ethnic food, and shopping.
